January 2022 Impact Member Spotlight

Updated: Jan 24, 2022

We are kicking off our new year with Cynthia Maronet as Impact’s January Member Spotlight.

Cynthia has been a member since 2018 and is a Southerner who has lived in Palm Beach County for over 40 years.

She has lived in the same wonderful home on the Erman River in North Palm Beach for 35 years and moved to Oaks East in Palm Beach Gardens four years ago. “The neighborhood is a perfect fit for my two dogs, Zach and Scout, and me,” said Cynthia.

Cynthia's favorite hobbies include gardening, walking, travel, cooking, and serving on the IMPACT Grants Committee.

“I am an Artist. Each time I set up my easel at the beach, a park, or my backyard, I experience the joy of mixing and putting color next to color and watching it create a sense of space and movement. All those years of standing out in the wind, mist or heat taught me to work quickly and decisively to capture dynamic moments with paint.” - Cynthia Maronet

After shedding her business obligations several years ago, she entered a new creative chapter in her life where she has the freedom to explore her creativity and different media. Currently, she is working on three collages using recycle materials for an upcoming Waste to Wonder Exhibition at Resource Depot in West Palm Beach from January 29th to March 26, 2022.

Why did you join Impact?

Timing is everything. During a pivotal time in my life, I met Deborah Johnson riding together on a bus to explore the Everglades on an airboat. As she talked, I realized IMPACT would definitely become a vital part of the new life I was visualizing. Joining IMPACT is one of the best decisions I have ever made.
